Bangkok, May 7 – Pahang Rangers competed in Asean Football Federation – Futsal Club Championship 2023 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand last May.

The tournament has been held for 7 days consisting of seven futsal clubs around ASEAN.  

During the first match, Pahang Rangers faced Thailand or also known as Hongyan Thakam as their first opponent. PRFC trailed 1-0 in the first half before Amin Nasrollah equalised, but Hongyan Thakam scored three remarkable goals, including one in the final minute, to seal the victory. 

Subsequently, PRFC has been leading until the very end through goals from Matheus Gonzales, Akmarulnizam Idris, Sufri Shamil and Ridzwan Bakri against Victoria University from Myanmar. 

Moreover, the match between Myanmar was a winning match which resulted 4-3 which qualified PRFC to the Semi- Final of AFF. 

Nevertheless, Blacksteel, representing Indonesia taking over the match, led 3-0 in the first half and added four goals in the second half. 

PRFC concluded the 2023 AFF Futsal Championship with a 0-3 loss to Thai Son Nam, and returned home as the fourth-place team.

The defeat in the AFF serves as motivation for Pahang Rangers to perform well in the ongoing MPFL.

It has been a fairly significant tournament for our young players, who have faced the strongest clubs in the ASEAN region. The players have demonstrated commitment, discipline, hard work, and tenacity.

Pahang Rangers returned home with new experiences that will undoubtedly contribute to their future success.
