Shah Alam, July 29 – Pahang Rangers’ victory over Selangor MAC in the Semi Final qualified them to face JDT in the MPFL 2023.
As MPFL 2023 has been ongoing since 18 February 2023, Pahang Rangers has faced a number of undefeated and experienced players during the grouping stage, followed by the quarter final and semi final against one of the strongest opponents or their rival from the previous season, Selangor MAC.
Accordingly, up until the quarterfinals, the Pahang Rangers had scored more than seventy points in games. Harith Naim, wearing number 7, has dominated the scoring leaders.
Pahang Rangers won the MPFL 2023 final ticket in the semi-finals after an exciting home and away match over the previous two weeks.
In the semi final first-leg match of the MPFL 2023, Pahang Rangers battled from behind to beat Selangor MAC 4-3 at their home stadium in Sukpa.
Subsequently, the away match at Stadium Panasonic Shah Alam was a thrilling, tense, and unforgettable experience. Despite falling behind 2-0 after the first half, Gerard Casas’s team rallied to win 3-2 on goals from Sergio Jamur, Mahadir Harahap, and Harith Naim.
Even though Selangor Mac tied the position 3-3 in the final round, it was not enough to prevent Pahang Rangers from advancing to the final with an aggregate score of 7-6.
